- You must buy a house as soon as you can. Houses seem worthless at early levels, but the secret advantage is not that you can store items, but that they gain in [Z-Token] value every week. This means that you gain Z-Tokens just by having the house. I started late, but now I'm earning 50 Z's every week with my Tiki Hut.
- When JUST starting out, learn how to make the pet rock at Warlic's shop.
- Know that it's okay to die.
- Know that you train to be as many different classes as you want.
- Get the Salad Shooter spell & attack that Seed Spitter! (see below)
- Click the button on the home page that says "Ballyhoo!" Watch short advertisements and get gold! The higher your level, the more gold you get. This works a few times per day. I still do this when I need cash fast, or when I'm building up savings for an expensive weapon.

The Best Things to Do As Early As Possible in Adventure Quest

My favorite pets in Adventure Quest
At level 71, here are the best I haven't sold yet:
- Protector Pet: (Earth) by far the best: it usually attacks, and does major damage.
- Ultra FireWere: (Fire) second to Protector Pet, good ranged fire attacks!
- Truffle: (mixed) cute and fun, four ranged attacks of different elements, each a low damage and doesn't always hit.
- Ninjat (level 65): cute, quite good. Either two darkness melee or two ranged wind attacks. Averages 30 points, but has higher charisma requirements than Protector Pet.
- Flogg: (Earth) worthless
- Dragonkitten: (Light) cute, but low percentage of hits, and medium damage.
- Velocigobbler: (Energy) good
- Light Gatta (Light): good
